LEADERSHIP & Community
University Blood Initiative
Sept 2020 - Dec 2021
Co-Founder / President / Vice President
College Station, TX
As one of the founding members for the new chapter at Texas A&M University in 2020, we strived to provide a safe donation blood drive and education resource during the peak of the pandemic when blood donation shortages were at an all time high.
During my first year tenure as an executive, I was the Vice President hoping to increase member participation as well as host weekly meetings to coordinate with local hospitals for blood donations from college students. During my last semester, I was elected as the President of the organization on campus. My two years on the executive board resulted in 3 annual blood drives and a 200% member increase.
Mckinsey & Company
Connected Leaders Academy
June 2024 - August 2024
Leadership Essentials Participant
Dallas, TX
Participating in the Connected Leaders Academy offered by McKinsey & Company, I will be joining a program designed to advance racial equity by investing in future leaders. This program targets to sharpen core business understanding, dives into effective day-to-day leadership and execution, examines self-leadership, and provides a robust network of peers and experts that I hope to learn from and take with me through any aspect of my growing career.
American Red Cross
May 2020 - Sept 2020
General Volunteer
Dallas, TX
I wanted to volunteer my free time during the pandemic to American Red Cross, whether that was administrative screening on prospective volunteers over the phone and attending virtual events, interviewing and placing volunteers into appropriate open positions in Red Cross, or being in the front line to aid in Blood Drives and free clinics.
This volunteer experience educated me on the low blood donation crisis and fueled me to take on executive positions and co-find University Blood Initiative at TAMU.
Hullabuloo U Student Success
June 2021 - Dec 2021
Peer Mentor
Through personally overcoming challenges myself during my four years in undergraduate as a first-generation student, I was confident to share my knowledge to other students and be a great mentor to guide them through their similar struggles.
In my senior year of college, I sought an opportunity to give back to the Aggie community in what I saw lacking just 4 years prior in a new program: Hullabuloo U Student Success.
Mentoring a classroom of students in their first year of the program was super fulfilling. I was able to provide answers to them, schedule 1-on-1 meetings, plan study courses, and consult with facility on matters outside of the classroom to better enrich their first year experience. Through my contributions, we were able to increase test scores and confidence in students in the end of the year survey as well as retain more students in classrooms.
Sigma Phi Omega
January 2019 - May 2020
Recruitment Chair
As the elected recruitment chair of Sigma Phi Omega, I led planning and hosting of recruitment week for over 100 participants while managing budgetary limits. My efforts increased recruitment by 130% compared to previous semester. As one of my first major projects, I gained valuable skills including conducting interviews, gathering data, providing feedback while considering the organization fit, managing schedules, and booking event venues for 8 days with a total of 36 hours of participation from each active member.
Performance Captain
As the elected performance captain, I choreographed and participated in 2 dance routines for the Spring Stroll competition.
